“All roads lead to Rome” is a quote that has been around since ancient times yet is as true today as ever. Even centuries ago, the Eternal City was what many would nowadays call “cool.” Back then it attracted visitors with its art treasures, architectural masterpieces, and its dolce vita along with its excellent cuisine and lots of sunshine—and all those things still hold true today. Yet in more recent years, Rome’s lively scene has been the source of new energy and stimuli. Hotels, businesses, bars, and restaurants offer not only classic elegance and delicious cuisine, but often surprise visitors with their contemporary design. None of this has detracted from the Roman lifestyle. Residents of the capital city are used to seeing the old combined with the new and how that results in a fascinating and harmonious whole.
