The Gansevoort was one of the first hotels in the Meatpacking District below Chelsea and is known for its Penthouse and Pool area on the roof. This might not be the right hotel for somebody who is looking for a quiet, business-like environment, but if you’re out to party in New York, this is the place to stay. The décor, while sumptuous, reflects the partying spirit: It looks better at night than in the morning.
